What do we do? We are the student-run side of the University of Sheffield Archaeology Department. This upcoming year will be a little different to what we're used to, but that doesnt mean we can't still enjoy all thing Archaeology safely! We plan to organise a number of events throughout the year, including online quizzes, an online virtual speaker series, online movie nights, Peak District walks in the new year if possible, Archaeology football team, and a society organised dig around Easter if safe to do so, and much much more! We still hope that there will be an end of year ArchSoc Ball!
And what does that get me? Your membership will get you the coveted ArchSoc card, giving you discounts at various Sheffield bars, pubs and clubs. Keep your eyes peeled to our Facebook Page for more details about this year's great offers. ArchSoc membership will also give you discounts to ArchSoc-organised events that are charged and drinks deals at other bars, pubs and clubs on social nights. Why wouldn't you want to join?
How much is it? It's just £5 for 1 year!
But I don't do an archaeology degree- can I still join? Of course you can! We don't discriminate here at ArcSoc- anyone who is interested in archaeology can join us. In the past, we have had members from languages, history, maths, psychology as well as archaeology to name just a few.
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
