Whether you have a passion for baking, have never baked before or just fancy trying something different, Baking Society is perfect for you! By joining Bake Soc, you will have a chance to learn different skills from cake decorating to pastry making... and you get to eat the final product! We hold regular sessions in a friendly and relaxing environment where you can get involved, ask questions and socialise with people who share your interest. Everyone is welcome from beginners to experts. Membership costs only £5.00 for the year or £3.00 per semester! This helps us buy equipment and save up to pay room rent for when we can head back into the kitchen (hopefully semester 2!). It can be bought by clicking the 'Join this Group' link at the top of this page! There is then a small charge for each event which helps us to purchase the ingredients required - this is usually £1-2. We will have a list of members at events so no need for tickets, we will email you an ingredients list, recipe and link to join the virtual class 48 hours prior to the event.

2020 Information

Due to the current pandemic all baking events and socials will be held online this semester. Although this is a bit different from our usual events we promise it will be no less fun, in fact we are committed to making sure Bake soc remains a friendly enviroment perfect for meeting and socialising with like minded people!

Please consider becoming a member this semester to help us keep our society up and running and ready to get going with face to face events when permitted. In return we'll run online events in the meantime to keep us all baking at home.

Please let us know if you have an allergy. All of our events can contain dairy, gluten and nuts unless stated otherwise. We cannot take responsibility if you choose to attend the event regardless. We will arrange events which cater to allergies :)

Committee

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
