These are great times to meet new friends, show us your creative skills at fancy dress and to relax from your university work. After Easter we also hold a Biosoc Ball which is a formal event with live music, a sit down meal and extra entertainment. This is always a great evening where you can reminisce the past year with your friends, and have fun before exam revision starts. NETBALL - The biosoc netball team is a fun way to be part of a team that plays regular matches in the intra mural legue against other academic departments. Playing netball with biosoc is a relaxed way to get involved and meet new people. It is a mixed team and players of any ability are welcome. Volunteering Biosoc offers a variety of biotastic volunteering activities throughout the year. Including conservation events in the peak district, a school mentoring scheme, and other fundraising events. TOUR The BioSoc tour is one of the main events organised, and isn't to be missed. Enjoy a weekend away in a European city - visiting the local sites and experiencing the culture in the day, and when the sun has set - experience the city's nightlife. This is a great way to celebrate your January exams and to make new friends across all year groups.  Keep an eye on the Facebook pages to see where we'll be going this year! INCLUSIONS AND ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES BioSoc also offers a range of non-alcoholic socials for members to make friends in a more chilled setting, keep up to date with the facebook group to hear about events. We also organise a range of talks from employers and offer career advice for those of you who need more information about where an Animal and Plant sciences degree can  lead you. *** Due to the ongoing restrictions surronding Covid-19, certain activities will be suspended. However, as soon as restrictions are reduced the activities will be resumed.

Committee

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
