Civil Engineering Society

CivSoc is the society for students studying any variation of Civil Engineering at Sheffield. It is run entirely by Civil & Structural Engineering students with the sole aim of ensuring that, for the duration of your course, you have a great time with your fellow course mates. You’ll also get to know members of CivSoc in the older years and we hope that through this, the Civil Engineering Society will become a community, which can offer advice and support to one another.

The society organizes both alcoholic & non-alcoholic socials throughout the year with a variety of themes and choices culminating in the CivSoc May Ball, and once again, CivSoc will be travelling abroad to see the best sights and local nightlife that Europe has to offer!

We also head up the faculties intramural men's and women's sports teams which include, football and netball. This year we are also part of the newly formed Engineer's rugby team.

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
