Conservation Volunteers Committee

Working Committee

We are a working comittee committed to doing regular conservation work with local organisations. Our aim is to maintain and improve the greenspaces in and around Sheffield through work with environmental organisations such as the National Trust and The Peak District Rangers.

Our tasks cover a wide range of activities so there is something for everyone to get stuck in with! Typically our activities include scrub clearance, dry stone walling, fence building, tree-planting and hedge laying among others. We run one working day each weekend and one weekend residential trip further afield per semester.

Due to coronavirus this semester will be operating differently with a series of online events such as conservation watch parties, litter picking challenges and much much more!

To keep up to date with upcoming events follow our SUCV facebook page or subscribe to our mailing list. Feel free to email us or message us on Facebook, we are always more than happy to answer any questions!

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
