Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the University of Sheffield Darts Society. Game on! Since 2007, the University of Sheffield Darts Society has made a game enjoyed in pubs and homes for decades available to students at the University. We pride ourselves on making the game accessible and fun to players from all backgrounds and of all abilities. It costs just £3 to become a member. Among the many benefits of becoming a society member are: LEAGUE NIGHTS: We meet every Thursday from 6.30pm at the University Arms, with all society members invited to be part of the UoS Darts Premier League. Come and play competitive darts in a no-pressure environment! TOURNAMENTS: All comers are welcome to participate in the many tournaments that feature in the UoS Darts calendar, including such classics as the Ham Cup, the Easter Egg Cup and the Home Brew Cup. Where else could you win a Creme Egg or meat for playing darts? (Alternative prizes are available) INTER-UNIVERSITY COMPETITIONS: The University of Sheffield competes in the Northern Universities Darts League (NUDL), fielding two teams and playing teams from Manchester, Nottingham, Nottingham Trent, Loughborough and Sheffield Hallam. We also participate in the University Darts UK (UDUK) Big Weekender, a two-day event featuring the biggest singles and team tournaments in university darts, SOCIALS: The society invites one and all to join in on some of our legendary socials, including the unmissable Christmas Social. Don't let the sport's beer-soaked reputation put you off though - we will be running both optional alcoholic and non-alcoholic socials throughout the year.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are reducing capacity at our league nights and operating on a booking system basis. Darts is best enjoyed in-person, with a lively and friendly pub atmosphere. And so to continue that as best we can, we will be meeting at the University Arms on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4-7pm, with a booking system in place to manage capacity according to SU & Government guidelines. Details of this can be found on our Facebook page. We'd still love to see you so be sure to book your session!

Tournaments are temporarily on hold in-person, until we can find a safe and enjoyable way to run these. However, do keep an eye out for virtual darts tournments throughout the year.

NUDL games are currently set to resume in January 2021, so until then we will continue to run league nights and practice our darting abilities in order to give ourselves the edge of other Universities.

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
