Flute Choir Society

The University of Sheffield Flute Choir Society is a friendly and inclusive society for flutists of all abilities! We are a non-audition ensemble, and new members are welcome to join us at any point throughout the academic year.

Ordinarily we rehearse for 1 hour each Wednesday afternoon in the Department of Music, but due to COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to hold any rehearsals for the foreseeable future. We’re looking forward to hosting a range of fun online activities so that new members can get to know us and feel like part of the society, ready for when rehearsals can start running safely again.

We play a range of pieces differing in genre and ability so there is something for everyone to enjoy! Some of our recent favourites have included selections from ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’, The Dambusters March and The Swan.

We’re looking forward to meeting you!

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
