Friends of Medecins Sans Frontieres Society
Medical Society Sub-Committee
Friends of Medecins Sans Frontieres, also known as Doctors without Borders. We are a student led committee that aim to:
Raise awareness of MSF's work and humanitarian issues
Encourage students to consider working for organisations such as MSF by holding career events and talks
Raise funds for MSF through bake sales, Beats without Borders club night and most recently selling handmade crafts on @merch_for_msf
MSF is a charitable organisation that organises and supplies relief and aid work in areas suffering from humanitarian crises. These can include areas of armed conflicts, epidemica, famine, natural disasters and other major emergencies. Most recently they have been helping all over the world to try and tackle to COVID-19 pandemic.
As a society, we regularly organise events to raise funds and awareness and we need people to make these as big as possible. It doesn't matter what course you do at university, if you have any ideas and are interested, or just want to find out more about what MSF does, come along to one of our meetings. More details of these are on the website.

Committee
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
