The University of Sheffield Gospel Choir is a friendly and inclusive choir with the aim to have fun and enjoy music together. Anyone of any singing ability is welcome, and we don't hold auditions, as the choir is about more than just singing; we learn and develop together and provide support for one another.

In previous years we have performed at a variety of occasions and locations, such as the Christian Union Carol Service at the Sheffield Cathedral, the Sheffield Christmas Lights Switch On for Heart FM, BBC Radio Sheffield, as well as holding our own Christmas and Summer concerts.

We have a varied repertoire ranging from African American Spirituals to contemporary pop music and Disney hits.

We will really miss rehearsing in person. However, we are looking forward to meeting newcomers online and discovering what we can achieve virtually. Whilst rehearsals are halted, we aim to develop our understanding of Gospel music, including what it encapsulates now, its history, and how we can use this knowledge to enhance our singing and performance. We also plan on creating instructional videos for you to start learning songs to perform in the future.

We would love to hear of your musical loves and experiences, gospel or otherwise.

We post our acitivity updates on Facebook, and please feel free to email us :)

We have a GiveItAGo activity on Wednesday 23rd. See the event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/2730767793913096/

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
