History Society Rugby Club
Departmental/AcademicWho are we?
History Rugby was founded in 2009 by a group of mates (who studied History at uni) who just wanted to play fun, social rugby. These days our team is made up of players with all levels of experience and abilities, from those who have never played before to those who have represented their local first XV for years. Though we are now alligned with HstSoc, we welcome players from all courses.
What do we do?
The club competes in the mens South Yorkshire Merit division on every Saturday during term time and trains every Wednesday afternoon on the Ponderosa. Most importanly at the heart of our club is still the flair and laid-back rugby that the club was set up to allow people to just go out onto the pitch and have fun.
We have numerous socials throughout the year including our Old Boys weekend and a club tour after Christmas and of course after matches we don our shirts and ties and head to poptarts.
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
