Welcome to the University of Sheffield Journalism Society, or as we like to call it, JournoSoc.

This year, JournoSoc is committed more than ever to provide an inclusive, global platform to unite and support all aspiring journalists at the University of Sheffield. We want to amplify each others successes, network with likeminded individuals and be a safe space to talk about the things that matter.

We're also the most collaborated society with the University of Sheffield's Journalism Studies department - one of the highest rated journalism courses in the UK.

We're extremely keen this year to have tonnes of fun at events, bag you some great local discounts, help you with learning - and most importantly, make your university experience as great as it can be.

So what's the cost?

In response to the ongoing pandemic, this year JournoSoc's membership fee will be reduced from £8 to just £4 for the full academic year.

The membership fee will give you access to vital learning resources, discounted entry to JournoSoc events and exclusive information about our events before anyone else. And, of course, it will give you ongoing support throughout the whole year.

Committee

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
