Welcome to MANSOC! From all of us at the Management committee, we want to say a huge welcome to the University of Sheffield. Whether you are new to Sheffield, or are a returning student, we hope you are settling in well and looking forward to the amazing year ahead.
Why become a member of the Management Society?
MANSOC is still the best way to meet friends and coursemates. Things may be looking different this year due to COVID restrictions and social distancing - but regardless, we have some fun things planned and there will be lots for you to get involved in!
Football and Netball -
Open to all abilities, MANSOC currently has several successful men’s football teams, and a title-winning women’s netball team. A great way to stay fit, meet like-minded people, with the opportunity to keep it as casual or competitive as you like!
NEW FOR 2020/21:
Passionate about a sport we don’t yet cover? Let us know and we’ll work with you to set up a team!
Bar Crawls & Nights Out -
We cannot wait to get back to hosting some of the most famous bar crawls and nights out that Sheffield has to offer! As Government and SU guidelines allow, we will return to our massively popular themed socials every couple of weeks.
NEW FOR 2020/21:
Tea for 2 -
Introducing our newest project: Tea For 2, we are finding new ways for you to socialise and meet fellow coursemates. By registering, you will be paired up with someone in your year of study, and have the opportunity to sit down for a cup of tea (or coffee, or feel free to make it alcoholic!) and have a chat.
Capgemini partnership -
This year MANSOC has teamed up with leading consultancy firm, Capgemini to provide careers guidance and employability support. We will be holding various events throughout the year, starting with our ‘Pizza, Prosecco and Pints’ night early in semester one. A fantastic opportunity to network with Sheffield alumni whilst gaining valuable insight into the application process of a global organisation.
Management School Employability Hub -
Building on our existing relationship with the Management School, we will be working closely with the Employability Hub to provide workshops and signpost opportunities for all our members.
NEW FOR THIS YEAR: REDUCED MEMBERSHIP FEES!
One year membership: £6 => £5
Three year membership: £15 => £13
With reduced fees, membership represents FANTASTIC value for money. There has never been a better time to be part of the MANSOC community.

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
