Medics' Women's Football Club

Medical Society Sub-Committee

We are a casual and friendly women's football team for players of all abilities - whether you've never kicked a football in your life, or have been playing for years, we don't mind! You don't have to be a medic and we have no trials, just turn up and give it a go! #ANYONECANPLAY

If you are interested and would like to get involved please join our group on Facebook:

Weekly activities:

Training: Tuesdays 7-8pm at Goodwin

Intramural (campus leagues): Fridays 5-6pm (6 a-side) and Sunday afternoons (beginners 5 a-side) at Goodwin

Other activities:

We put on regular socials, both alcoholic and dry. Think cheese and wine, fireworks, laser quest… and lots of fancy dress!

We are actively involved in fundraising, supporting a different charity each year - bucket-shaking, glow-stick selling, 10k running and spider walking. Last year we raised over £1000 for The Snowdrop Project!

We also play 11 a-side matches every few weeks, mostly against other medical school teams like Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool.

Once a year we play at NAMS - a national 11 a-side tournament for all medical schools and a weekend of team fun!

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
