Let us help you

In a modern world that is demanding of our cognitive attention, being a university student carries modern challenges. These ranging from stress to struggling with mental health, or even the inability to remain focused on tasks. Our goal as a society is to promote the use of these meditation techniques for students to ease those struggles. By exploring different techniques throughout the year, our sessions provide the opportunity to develop an inner awareness that will help you take lead of your own life in a more peaceful and confident manner. Each session is catered to people of all experience, so whether you’re new to meditation or have been practising for years, we would love to welcome you to our friendly society.

We will soon be announcing the beginning of our Give It A Go’s which is a perfect opportunity for us to meet you and introduce the society! The weekly membership schedule will then be announced as we move into October.

Beyond the sessions

We are lucky enough to have one of the more diverse (age + nationality) societies at Sheffield and is a welcome opportunity to meet people away from your course or housemates. Members gain access to any socials organised that included walks in the peaks, collabs, a SUTCO play, Christmas meal and many more! Looking towards second semester, we plan to organise a Meditation Society retreat to round off the academic year ????

Giving Back

Last year we were raising money for a charity called SAGE who ‘promote the mental and physical well-being of adults experiencing mental health problems’ through projects like Green fingers, which is horticulture therapy. Although progress may be stunted this year, we remain committed to SAGE and will keep you updated on what help we can offer as a society.

Each session is catered to people of all experience, so whether you’re new to meditation or have been practicing for years, we would love to welcome you to our friendly society.

Committee

All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.

A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.

It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
