Becoming a part of PhilSoc is the best way to meet people on your course and to make your coursemates part of your social life throughout your time at university. We organise a massive range of events, catering for every taste. Whether you want to meet new friends, become a part of our football or netball team, run for a committee member position, buy cheap university books, help out our chosen charity, fundraise for a project, come to a weekend abroad, listen to exclusively organised speeches (by some of the most well known philosophers and our own academic staff), improve your CV, learn to debate, volunteer, get help with your degree or simply have a few beers with fellow philosophers; this society is for you! This is your opportunity to make lifelong friends, get to know the academic staff and to make the most out of your university life and your degree!
All of our clubs and societies are run by a committee.
A committee is a team of people that lead, organise and publicise a group within your Students' Union.
It can be really rewarding as well as being a great way to gain experience and invaluable skills for your future career.
