Sheffield SU: open and supporting you

As Sheffield enters into Tier Three (very high) Covid-19 restrictions, we want you to know that our SU building remains open and we continue our work to support, represent, and enhance your student life.

Your wellbeing continues to be our priority. There are a wealth of services to support you at this time. The Student Advice Centre is operating online and you can find other support via our Health and Wellbeing webpages. SAHMS are currently fast streaming self-isolating students for counselling.

Your SU Officers continue to represent your interests and work with the University to ensure you receive a quality learning and teaching experience promised to every student.

The SU Building remains open with some small updates to our services and spaces.

Bar One remains open serving its tasty burgers and more, you will only be allowed to visit with your household indoors as well as outdoors from Saturday. You must purchase a meal alongside alcoholic drinks in line with the new restrictions from Saturday.  We are open on Saturday from 12-10 pm.

The Interval Kitchen and Bar is open until 9 pm on Friday, with a great range of offers on food and drink. Please note after this point, it will be temporarily closing for the foreseeable future.

Please remember, from Saturday, if you are coming to use our spaces, inside or out as a group, you must be in a group of no more than 6 and from the same household.

From today you are now able to use our new study space in Uni Central. There’s no need to book, free reliable WiFi, and you can even order food and soft drinks from Bar One and Coffee Revolution directly to your table from our easy to use Student Orders app. We also have a printer in the SU which is available for use at any time. You can also access a Covid safe printer in Garden View on Level 3.

We’re also continuing to explore further opportunities to deliver safe social activities for you.

Please take care,

Beth, SU President
