We get asked this a lot and rest assured, the answer is no. The ‘24 Hour’ idea is that we organise lots of little activities (of varying length) that take place over the 24 hours.
This means that throughout the event, at any one time, there will be students volunteering and making Sheffield happy. Everyone does their bit, which together makes a HUGE difference!
Each activity has a limited number of free places so you must sign up online before the event. Remember to join the Facebook Event so that we can keep you informed of any last minute places.
YES please do, it is a great event to have fun with friends! But please make sure they also sign up for a ticket themselves.
Hmmmm….sorry about that. Please email email@example.com and we will dig around to see why.
That is fine but please let us know ASAP before the weekend so that we can let someone else take your place. Email firstname.lastname@example.org. Remember that the charities spend lots of time and £ organising these activities for us so please don’t just not turn up on the day as they are relying on our help.
Everyone will meet in the Sheffield Volunteering office in the Students’ Union. We have organised your transport to and from the charity so you don’t have to worry. If you’re lost, you can call 0114 222 8543 or look out for the smiley volunteering committee in Blue or our giant Bee Buzby.
Your volunteering activity will be completely free. We will organise your transport and everything you need on the day. If there is anything specific, we will include this in your email.
All we ask is that you dress appropriately for your activity. Remember it rains a lot in Sheffield so wrap up warm and wear comfortable shoes.
The volunteering committee are here to help so get in touch with anything that you are unsure of and we’ll get back to you.
