Harrogate is a beautiful spa town in the heart of North Yorkshire. In the 18th century, the town became known as “The English Spa”, after the waters were discovered to contain healing properties such as iron and sulphur. Today there are many stunning and unusual sights to see, with many historic buildings, impressive architecture, as well as the natural springs. Learn more about the town’s history at one of the local museums or galleries. Make sure you stop for tea and cake at the world famous Betty’s Tearooms – a quintessentially English experience.
