External Speakers

  • An external speaker is an individual/organisation who is not a student or staff member at the University of Sheffield or Students' Union, and who is invited to provide information or a viewpoint.
  • If your society or committee wishes to invite an external speaker as part of its event/activity (either on or off campus) then you are required to submit an External Speaker Form at least 21 days (three weeks) in advance.  
  • If the speaker is deemed to be high risk or controversial, then we will contact you with support and advice to manage the event.
