The University of Sheffield Students’ Union plays an integral part in delivering the student experience at the University of Sheffield. We are led by students and deliver a wide range of services and activities that complement academic life on campus.
We are a registered charity and we are overseen by a Board of Trustees. The Trustee Board has overall responsibility for the governance, budget and strategy of the Students’ Union. Our Trustee Board includes eight elected student officers, four external trustees and five student trustees.
We currently have a vacancy for three of the Student Trustee positions. This is a unique opportunity to play a part in the future of one the UK’s most exciting and successful student unions.
You will need to be able to think strategically, be creative and bring a range of different perspectives to the Trustee Board.
On a practical level you will need to attend around 5 meetings per year and some additional sub-group or committee meetings. We'd expect minimum time commitments therefore to be around 10 days a year, but trustees will be able to get more involved if they wish.
You must be a current student of the University of Sheffield to be eligible. The position is unpaid, but reasonable remuneration will be offered for travel and other expenses.
