We are seeking a new permanent Welfare Coordinator to join the growing team with the Advice & Representation Department at the award-winning Sheffield Students’ Union.
Improving student welfare and wellbeing is a strategic priority for Sheffield Students’ Union as we begin to deliver on our ambitious new strategic plan. This is a new post and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects to improve the student experience, including housing, student finance, mental health and wellbeing.
You will join a department that also includes the Student Advice Centre, offering high quality advice, guidance and support to students in the areas of academic, housing, money and international. The new Welfare Coordinator will work alongside our Senior Advisers on social policy issues and systemic problems faced by students, focusing on lobbying and campaigning for change from the University, the city council, sector agencies and Government.
You will also work with our elected student leaders, student groups and other professional staff to develop impactful campaigns to deliver change for students now and in the future.
