How to vote - SU Officer Elections 2018

Voting in the SU Officer Elections 2018 could not be easier. Here’s our step by step guide.

Step 1: sheffieldsu.com/vote - Click here to 'Vote Now'

Step 2: Sign in with your Uni ID through MUSE

Step 3: Cast your votes

You will be voting for your Student Union Officers, Trustees and Referendum.

Voting closes at 5pm today Thursday 1st March.

Voting in the SU Elections: Top 10 FAQs

1. How long does voting take?

You can vote in seconds! Or if you want to read about the candidates as you go, grab a cuppa and take your time.

2. How do I do it?

Online via the Students’ Union website homepage. Just click ‘Vote Now’. If you’re not already logged into MUSE on the SU website, you’ll do that first, then that’s it – cast your votes. For each section (Student Union Officers, Trustees and Referendum), just click the ‘vote now’ button to vote, then move to another section, or come back later.

3. What, or who, am I eligible to vote for?

The Student Union Officers, Trustees and Referendum.

4. I get to rank things?

Yes. You can rank candidates in order of preference. This way, if your first choice can’t win, or they have enough votes already, your vote can transfer to your next choice along.

5. So do I have to rank all the candidates?

Nope! You can just put one preference, or you can put them all in order. It’s up to you.

6. Do I have to do it all at once?

No. If you’ve voted for one position, but want to return and vote for other things later, you can.

7. Once I’ve clicked ‘vote’, can I change my mind?

Yes - you can log back in and change your vote at any time during the voting period.

8. Can I read what different candidates would do if elected?

Yes, just click ‘show/hide details’ in any section to reveal more info, including candidate manifestos which spell out what they would do if elected.

9. When do I find out the results?

This Thursday after voting closes at 5pm. You can join us in Foundry to for Results Night from 7pm, or watch online at home as they are revealed through the evening.
