How can we create an anti-racist Students’ Union?

Sheffield Students’ Union wants to make changes to ensure we’re an anti-racist organisation. To do this we’re asking for your help! We feel strongly that student voices should drive change, and would really value hearing your experiences and ideas.

We therefore invite you to attend a focus group on tackling racism. This will be led by a staff member from the National Union of Students’, and we’d like to hear your feedback and thoughts that you have.

Session Details:
Monday 14th October in Octagon Council Chambers

Free pizza will be provided!

Please sign up here to attend a session.

Please note, this is a student only event and a University of Sheffield student Ucard will need to be shown to gain entry. Thanks.

Tackling Racism

It is crucial for Society/Committee members to have an understanding of racism and its impact, to be able to challenge it and to know how to offer support to those who have experienced racism. This training will educate you and give you the knowledge to champion antiracism in your Society/Committee. This training will also introduce you to the University’s Race Equality Action Plan.
