- The University has announced it will implement a safety net policy for all exams and assessments due to take place. This was off the back of a strong student-led campaign, and lobbying from the Education Officer. More information on the policy is available on the University website.
- The Officers have launched this Facebook group to help promote all brilliant student-led activity going on during this time.
- The Officers are running weekly Q&A sessions on the SU Instagram (@SheffieldSU) where students can ask questions and voice any concerns.
- The SU Building is closed until further notice.
- All events, including Varsity, have been cancelled until the end of May. Tickets for future events will not be going on sale until further notice.

The Students Union understands that many students will have concerns and questions about their academic, financial, housing situation as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the current lock down situation. We are also aware that students’ wellbeing and mental health may also be affected.
Our elected officers are also representing students’ interests at meetings with the University and feeding into local and national lobbying campaigns. Our aim is to ensure that wherever possible no student will suffer any detriment to their academic and personal life as a result of the Covid 19 crisis. They will work closely with the Advice and Representation team to represent your views and get answers to the questions and concerns you have.
So, as well as offering ideas and social events to help you cope and connect with others during the lockdown, our Student Advice Centre is also here to offer independent and specialist advice to you at this difficult time.
We are know that students will face different challenges and issues depending on their personal circumstances and so may require different types of advice and support at this time. We have provided links to University Support services and other specialist agencies which may be also be useful to you.
The situation is evolving and policies and guidance are subject to change and being introduced almost daily. The following information is based on what we know at the current time. We will add to this resource as and when new information becomes available.

Services and Events
The Students' Union building will be closed until further notice.
The SU has always been more than just a building. We still want to hear from you through all of our usual channels and ensure we keep the spirit of the SU alive during these unfamiliar times.
Our officer team have launched a Sheffield SU Online Community page on Facebook, where you'll be able to see all the brilliant online activity the SU and our student groups are setting up.
The majority of our services, including the Student Advice Centre, will be or have moved their activity online.
Tickets for cancelled events will be refunded automatically unless otherwise stated. Refunds may take in the region of 10 working days or so to appear in your account. Tickets for future events will not be on sale until further notice.

Your SU Officers have set up the Sheffield Students’ Union - Online Community Facebook group for students, committees, and clubs to share positive news, things they’re doing, and create a virtual community to keep the Sheffield spirit alive. Any students and staff can join!
