Volunteering and fundraising

If you’re looking to give something back to our local community there’s plenty to get involved with. Sheffield Volunteering and its local partners will have a diverse range of projects which you can sign up to support. From creating eye-catching marketing materials for a homeless charity, to forming a friendship with an older person to reduce social isolation, these are a really rewarding way to spend some of your free time. RAG (Raising and Giving) and Bummit (charity hitchhiking) raise tens of thousands for good causes each year, and 2020/21 will be no different! They are planning events throughout the first semester (virtual charity hitchhike anyone?) so you can have fun and raise a ton for charity! Click the links below to find out more!

Events and entertainment

Our extensive club night and live music programme is poised to return as soon as national guidelines allow. In the meantime our teams and student groups are working on bringing you a new flavour of events and entertainment.

We’re running regular quizzes in Bar One and also trailing new seated club nights whilst guidelines allow. Follow the Students’ Union Facebook Page for event updates.

You can also join in ‘Film Unit: Remote’ and enjoy movies from the comfort of your place with other Uni of Sheffield film fans. Simply load up Netflix and watch along at the same time or join their Netflix Party to watch in sync and chat.
